Back in BK
I’ve just returned to New York City from New Orleans. I’m jazzed to be having a good bagel with my coffee this morning.
Posters ordered over the weekend will ship this afternoon. Thanks for all your orders.
New Prints Today
I am stoked to report that we have printed several new prints by Dan Funderburgh and Michael Perry. Dan’s print – ‘Census’ - is a signed and numbered 3-color edition to benefit the campaign for Barack Obama – Dan’s donating all proceeds to the campaign.
Universe Factory by Michael Perry is actually an edition of 4 prints available individually or as a set.
Reprints
We reprinted the We are so good together prints on speckletone natural paper over the weekend for those of you who were waiting.
I am also pretty stoked to print some new posters next week with Mike Perry and a few other folks.
Kaboom!
I am pumped to release a new print for the store by Matt Hollister. It’s a two color poster and measures 13 by 20 inches.
We ran a hundred off over the course of one evening a couple weeks back with a little moral support from Sam Friedman.
Good times.
Hard Time by Chuck Agro
We printed Hard Time by Chuck Agro over the weekend on the Vandercook.
It’s a signed open edition printed on Speckletone Madero measuring 11 by 13 inches and available for purchase in the store.
I am really enjoying working with artists on these prints for the store. Hit me up if you are interested in collaborating on a print.
Gravity's Rainbow by Dan Funderburgh
We printed Gravity’s Rainbow by Dan Funderburgh this past Friday on the Vandercook. It’s a three color print that we ran in two editions (one limited and the other open).
You can pick one of the prints up in the store if you are so inclined.
We’ve putting several other prints up for sale in the next few days, so check back soon or subscribe to either our newsletter or to our sitewide RSS feed.
Back in stock
Thanks to Hunt we have another run of We are so good together prints in stock. If you’ve been waiting to grab one, now is I suppose as good a time as any.
Most efficiently describing the universe
Over the weekend, we printed an edition with Noah Rauch and Jody Avirgan. You can pick one up in the store if you like.
Jody describes the concept this way:
Two semesters of intensive introductory astronomy distilled into seven handy rules.
It’s a two-color run of 100 handset woodtype prints measuring 13 by 20 inches and part of our summer collaborations.
New in the store
We have ten of Cannonball Press’ We Can Burn That Bridge When We Come To It woodcut/letterpress prints now available in the store. They measure 18”x24” inches and were handtooled, hand-inked and printed by Martin Mazzora here in Brooklyn.
Back in BK
I am back in Brooklyn and, folks, I’ve shipped your posters. Thanks for the orders; we’ve got some new products in the pipeline so look out for those this week.
Three days worth of weather
We’ve got another print in the store. It’s a 4-color letterpress poster.
I am also looking for local Brooklyn/New York folks who want to collaborate on posters this summer. If you’re interested, holler @me.
Sold out
It looks like products in the store are sold out again. I am finishing up a new print tomorrow or Friday and will be re-printing a couple oldies over the next few weeks.
We are so back in stock
I just ran off another set of We are so good together prints. They are drying on just about every conceivable surface here in the office. I’ll start shipping them tomorrow morning, I reckon, but you can order them now in the store.
Reprints
I am still in California, but we’ve reprinted the The tallest flagpole in Calipatria photograph with the good folks at Primary Photographic to accomodate some of the requests I received recently. I am making them available now in the store, but they won’t ship until this coming Monday if you go ahead and buy a print in advance of my return.
I am going to be printing another run of We are so good together posters as well when I get back to Brooklyn next week. So keep an eye out for those.
On shipping (international & otherwise)
I’ve received a bunch of questions about shipping policies for the store. So I’d like to clarify a couple things.
First, I am totally down to ship internationally, but it’s a bit of an ordeal running to the post office or to UPS to fill out the required customs forms for each order. So I am setting up a special form specifically for international orders (to deal with the disparity in shipping rates between Toronto and Perth, for example) and will ship them once a week. In the meantime, if you live in Scotland and want to pick up a print, holler at me.
Second, shipping rates vary a bit based on the format of the product being purchased. Big prints (around 13 by 20 inches) get rolled up and put in a heavy duty 4 by 18 inches tube (which you should re-use and possibly turn into architecture). Medium sized and smaller prints are shipped in stay-flat mailers. All domestic orders are sent by UPS ground.
Selling out
We’ve sold out of the We are so good together prints once again.
The stocks for several other prints are also running pretty low. If you want to be informed of reprints or of new prints coming down the line, get on the newsletter.
Thanks to everybody who placed orders. Processing/fulfilling all of them yesterday and the day before yesterday was a feat of extreme human endurance, I reckon.
Just re-launched the store
It took me a bit longer than I expected to re-build it (not that the building took long, but finding time to spend on it was hard), but it’s done now; I just re-launched the I Am Still Alive store.
There are currently just 5 prints for sale. That’ll change, though. I plan to put a new product up there weekly at least and while they’ll be primarily letterpress prints produced in-house (use the tools you’ve got), I’d like to experiment a bit with other media and collaborate with other folks.
